For this second stage, starting from Colmar, we changed region and scenery to reach Beaune.
The morning was dedicated to crossing the Vosges towards the Jura via the Markstein, then the Planche des Belles-Filles (famous ramp well known to cyclists of the Grande Boucle) where the first coffee break of the day was established.
Then, the competitors headed to the Golf – Chateau de Bournel for lunch which marked our entry into slightly less hilly lands and a selection of more rolling roads.
During the afternoon, a second CP awaited the participants before entering Burgundy and more particularly in the Côte d’Or department, internationally known for the quality of its grape varieties.
Once arrived in Beaune, and at the Hotel “le Cep”, we chose to organize a dinner in a “surprise” place for an attractive experience combining a visit to the Patriarche underground cellars and a dinner among the grands crus classés.
The meeting is set for the third stage which will consist of a loop around Beaune which will put the Morvan in the spotlight with a stop at Salieu, land of Chef Bernard Loiseau’s.
