TENco’s Grand Swiss Tour : GENEVE – ANDERMATT – LUGANO – LUZERN

TENco’s Grand Swiss Tour

From 26 to19 August 2020

GENEVE – ANDERMATT – LUGANO – LUZERN

Participants of the Grand Swiss Tour had an appointment on August 26, 2020 for the day of administrative checks organized at the Geneva Campus of Haute Horlogerie, with opportunity of visiting Roger Dubuis’ manufacture and discovering the building process of these exceptional watches.

The first stage set off under bright sunshine, from Geneva along the shores of Lake Geneva, crossing the Gruyère and crossing the first pass of the rally, the Jaun Pass. Lunch was organized at the Grand Hotel Victoria in Interlaken, before heading back to the Lauterbrunnen waterfalls and their breathtaking views of the Jungfrau, then at the SustenPass before arriving at the Chedi Hotel Andermatt.

The second stage offered some of the most beautiful passes in Switzerland with the famous Furka Pass and Nufenen Pass to climb, before reaching the 24 paved hairpins of the Tremola leading to the Saint-Gothard Pass. The lunch break was planned at the Alpe di Sorescia, a place of cheese production where everyone will have participated in a fun challenge, where the co-pilots did not have to spill the water contained in a ladle to keep out of the vehicle, on a winding road. The descent later followed the “verzasca valley” to the typical village of Sognono, before a well-deserved rest at Villa Principe Leopoldo overlooking Lake Lugano.

The final stage took place under gray and wet weather with crossing of the Saint-Bernard pass before joining the planned lunch on shores of Lake Wallensee. In the afternoon, the old Klausen Pass hillclimb welcomed the participants, before heading to Seelisberg circuit where drivers had to fight against chronometer on a technical slalom-like layout, giving pride to drifts and accelerations. This first edition of the Grand Swiss Tour, organized jointly by TENco and CNP, then ended in Lucerne, at the Burgenstock Resort, after having covered nearly 1000 kilometers on Swiss territory.
