TENco’s Grand Swiss Tour – Stage 2

Stage 2: ANDERMATT – Alpe Sorescia – LUGANO (266km)

Today, Friday August 28, the second stage of the Grand Swiss Tour started from Andermatt, from the Chedi Hotel for a stage offering some of the most beautiful passes in Switzerland. It was indeed necessary to cross the Furka Pass and the famous James Bond Street in turn, as well as the Nufenen Pass to reach the first passage control of the day.

Then, the participants were able to climb the 24 paved hairpins of the Tremola, a road built in 1830 leading to the Saint-Gothard Pass where lunch was organized at the Alpe di Sorescia, place of cheese making. To access it, everyone will have participated in a very fun challenge, where it was a question of not spilling the water contained in a ladle to be kept outside the vehicle by the co-pilot, on an obviously tortuous and narrow road.

The rest of the day consisted of a descent to Lugano for a well-deserved rest at the City of Principe Leeopoldo. See you tomorrow for the final stage to Lucerne, where we will know the winner of the event.
